Think you can’t draw because you can’t render a still life to your liking? This 6 week series will shake up what you expect from drawing, while offering multiple avenues to a daily drawing practice.
In this workshop series, we will explore different ways of drawing, using easily obtained materials. Expect to experiment with color, line, and mark making, while trying a variety of drawing techniques. Lessons will include demos, examples, and exercises to encourage a different perspective about drawing.
Each 2 hour lesson on Sundays will include a slide show, introduction to a concept, and exercises within that concept. Students have the option to share their work, through suggested homework assignments.
All sessions are recorded.
I’ve been evolving this class for 10 years. Students have included folks who want to do something creative and don’t know where to start, artists who want a fresh look at drawing, and creative folks who want a little accountability in their artistic practice. Expect classes to be encouraging and playful, with a focus on creativity and exploration over final compositions.
