Keep Writing no. 173 September 2023

Who are you today? Who will you be in fifteen years?

Speaking of best intentions…

I planned this card to share at Olympia Arts Walk and the opening of my show of 15 Years of Keep Writing at Community Print Olympia.

I moved in the first week of September, but that was manageable. I started printing this card. I printed 300 each, two sided, in two colors, with polymer plates. The first layer was too pale, so I printed over it. I still had text to add. I enlisted the help of Aubree Holliman. We set up two platen presses with the same color, and printed the reddish type. I printed one side and then handed the card to her.

I was tired but that made sense; I was doing too much. I still had to finish packing for my show installation. I went to work the next day, and by the end of my shift, realized I wasn’t just tired. I went home and tested positive for C*VID for the first time. I was supposed to leave for Olympia in the morning.

Luckily I wore a mask at the IPRC and at work and didnt get anyone else sick.

I got these in the mail, and rescheduled my show for November. Whew!
