Keep Writing no. 170 June 2023
What is in season?
Moving to the Pacific Northwest has meant re-learning what is in season, what can be foraged. Lucky for me, I have friends who love to talk about this.
Devon Damonte makes cyanotypes and forages for berries. He shared some cyanotypes, and I figured out how to translate them to riso, using white ink, blue Neenah Paper, and help from Outlet in Portland. Still one of my favorite prints.
We asked recipients to smash a little of whatever is ripe in their neighborhood and tell us what it is.
