Keep Writing no. 79 October 2015

Share a pose and how it affects your mood.

In 2015 I became a certified yoga teacher, which was short lived as I realized I was not equipped to honor the traditions of yoga, nor was I ready to dive deeper into movement study to sufficiently feel comfortable teaching others. I appreciate movement, I honor the incredible teachers I met, and I learned so much about teaching in general.

This card was inspired by Jenn Meek, who shared this power pose at the beginning of a class. Dubbed “yes asana” because we think we are funny, it is a stance that may inspire confidence. And so I asked others to share their poses, or how they take up space in the world, and how it makes them feel.

This was also an experiment in printing extra cards and leaving them, with a bamboo mail box, out in public, to draw more folks in. This card was available at the studio where I was teaching for a month.

Letterpress printed with polymer plates on French paper on a borrowed Heidelberg Windmill Letterpress.
