Keep Writing no. 59 February 2014
Tell me how you met one of your good friends.
The sweetest response I received to this questions from two friends I had introduced, who sat at a coffee shop in New Orleans and wrote it together. They weren’t dating, just friends. And only one of them lives in New Orleans now.
I asked that question because Jeremy Sedita and I met in Seattle in 2002. You can read this on the card. In 2013, when I was in Oakland, he sent me two drawings to turn into prints. Unfortunately, it took a long time for my print shop skills to catch up to what I needed for color separations. We got it though and I printed two postcards with him.
When I visited Portland in December 2019, in the brief window between deciding to move here and actually doing it, we walked down Division Street and got dinner.
Weirdly we lived blocks away from each other for 4 years (during covid) but haven’t hung out.
Well, his drawings are playful and fun and I met him at a time where I needed a lot of magical people in my life and was lucky to meet them all.
Letterpress printed with polymer plates on insulation pink French Paper, still one of my favorites, on Ben’s Universal One.
