Keep Writing no. 31 July 2011

Illustrate your favorite escape that led to somewhere better.

The drawing I used for this was also used in a very beautiful artist book by Alluvium Press.

‍I was thinking about libraries as I made a batch of yellow paper from scraps from Black Bird Letterpress. Bear hug cards, with inclusions of torn library cards from an art library, I think. (I love combining projects when I can!)

‍Since I was old enough to leave the house alone, I’d often go to the library. As a teen, I spent a lot of Friday nights looking at art books.

Free public spaces are important!

‍Handset type, and silkscreen on handmade paper (from reclaimed scraps of French paper) at LSU.
